# Get a feature

> Read one active feature by its stable ID.

Reads one active feature by its stable `id`. The response includes its display `name` and the number of credits charged per successfully tracked use. A feature's current cost can change through [Update a feature](https://docs.integrateledger.com/api-reference/features/update.md); prior usage remains charged at the cost recorded when it happened.

An unknown or archived ID returns `404 not_found`. Use [List active features](https://docs.integrateledger.com/api-reference/features/list.md) to discover available meters, then pass the ID to [Check credits](https://docs.integrateledger.com/api-reference/usage/check.md) or [Record usage](https://docs.integrateledger.com/api-reference/usage/track.md).
